The medieval village of Sauveterre de Rouergue founded in 1281 and classed as one of France's "Most beautiful Village", is a lovely 13th century royal bastide built around a square with its multitude of arcades.
LAGUIOLE IN AUBRAC, specialized in the manufacture of high-end Laguiole, took over VIALIS the manufacture of the SAUVETERRE knife which was the main activity of the village from the 13th to the 18th century.
The "Sauveterre" with its sober and pure design is well integrated into the 21th century.
