The name of the collection “Don’t Buy This Knife” is based on a deliberately bold and unconventional concept. At first glance, it surprises, intrigues, and may even raise a smile. Yet there is nothing negative about it — it is an ironic and fully intentional message.

This name refers to the knife’s exceptional durability. Thanks to its 100% forged construction in France, its high-quality carbon steel blade or stainless steel blade, and its sturdy rosewood handle, this knife is designed to last for years — even a lifetime. The underlying idea is simple: if you buy it, you will never need to buy another one.

The name therefore plays on paradox. In an era defined by fast consumption and the frequent replacement of everyday items, “Don’t Buy This Knife” stands for the opposite: a durable, repairable, sharpenable, and even heirloom-quality product. It is almost an invitation to consume less, but better.

This positioning also reflects great confidence in the product’s quality. Only a brand truly secure in its craftsmanship can afford such boldness. Ultimately, the name captures attention, sparks curiosity, and highlights what truly matters: an exceptional knife designed to accompany its owner for a lifetime.

The “Don’t Buy This Knife” collection is not an empty provocation. It is a promise.

We chose this name because once it is in your hands, you will never feel the need to replace it. This knife is entirely forged in France, in keeping with traditional cutlery craftsmanship. Its carbon steel blade delivers remarkable cutting precision, appreciated by professionals for its ease of sharpening and outstanding cutting performance.

The “ears” have been deliberately removed to enhance comfort during use. The result is immediate: a smoother, more natural grip, with no discomfort for the fingers — even during long prep sessions.

Its rosewood handle, a dense and noble wood, brings warmth and stability. To the touch, it feels smooth, balanced, and reassuring. This is a knife that evolves, develops a patina, and stands the test of time.

Engraved K SABATIER – 100% Forged – Made in France, it is far more than a simple kitchen utensil. It is a durable tool, created for those who prefer to buy once… and keep it for years to come.

IMPORTANT POINT : difference between a knife made with CARBON STEEL and a knife made with STAINLESS STEEL

A Carbon-Steel knife has exceptional cutting power, but it requires special maintenance. When using or washing your carbon-steel knife, wipe it dry with care to avoid the rust. Never put carbon-steel knives in the dishwasher.

In use, the steel can change colour. This is quite normal.

If you do not want this constraint concerning CARBON steel, choose a range in STAINLESS steel

 PALISSANDER HANDLE :

Important point for Palissander wood handles: it is a natural wood. Do not wet the wood or leave it damp in order to keep a nice handle.

If you get it wet, the wood can warp or stain towards the steel tang of the knife.

You can sometimes feed the wood with oil.
