Benjamin Mittay has a background in design and previously worked as a rolling-mill operator at the Forges de Syam.
When the forge closed, he turned to artisanal knifemaking. His background, combining design training and experience working with steel, strongly influences the style of his knives and led him to choose forging as his preferred method of production.
He is now based in the Jura region of France.
